Less Than Five Weeks Till Christmas!

Mammy's Lamp

Mammy’s Lamp

Has it dawned on you yet  there are less than five weeks until Christmas?  If you’re like me, you’ve not had the time, money or energy to even think about gifts.  Our house has been in chaos for two weeks since our furnace went on the fritz.  Still waiting for parts and have no scheduled date for the repair, to our dismay.  Pitch in a few other things, such as three-feet of snow and the aches, pains and stress of switching back to using our wood/coal stove, plowing the long, slick driveway and clearing snow from the decks.  There’s little time to do much else.

My daughter-in-law and I were  chatting recently when we decided it would be nice to simplify Christmas by spending holiday time together, rather DSCN8524than seeing how much we can spend on gifts.  She has a huge Christmas brunch on Christmas Day and also serves up turkey sandwiches for dinner with all family members invited.  The only gift she told me she wants is a copy of my book “Footprints in the Frost”.  As she put it, we’re all adults now, so it’s not necessary to buy an entire aisle of some store and have it spread across the room.  So, we’ve agreed to try and get this new plan underway this year.  All my kids and their spouses love to read, so this is a terrific idea.

You, too, can spend Christmas in the Colorado snow with Max and Sami as you read “Footprints in the Frost”.  Join them DSCN9661as they frolic in the deep powder with close friends and mingle with the beautiful people at one of the top ski resorts in the nation.  It will put you right in the center of a scene that looks like a beautiful Christmas card and make you think you can hear the snow crunch as they walk together on a cold New Year’s eve night.

Should you buy and read my book and enjoy it, I’d love to have a review on Amazon.com.  Go to the book’s detail page, scroll down to the customer review section and just type it in.

  1. Simplifying the gift-giving and enjoying cozying up with a copy of this book: perfect. Give the author more reviews for Christmas!

  2. Peggy says:

Taking the stress out of the holidays sounds beautiful. After the dinner and dishes are cleared, snuggling up with a book sounds like the end of a perfect day.

    • jtzortman says:

We may not be successful and actually accomplish our goal, Pegs, but we’re going to try. I don’t even have to help with the dishes or food anymore, being Grandma. The girls all pitch in and do it.

  3. John M. Wills says:

Time spent with family is a gift from the heart.

  4. jtzortman says:

You are absolutely right, John. That’s what Jill and I are trying to explain to our family.
